The adage 'actions speak louder than words' is true of Pavlovich Coachlines. Pavlovich's Chief Executive, Bernard Pavlovich, is a conservationist both at heart and in practice. Our Responsible Tourism Statement 'Green is as Green does' reflects the leadership example of Bernard to both staff and customers of good environmental practices being outworked in one's own back yard.  At our Mt Roskill depot, ecological practices have long been in place - in the work bays, operations, and administration offices - to recycle, reduce and re-use wherever possible.

The ethos of Responsible Tourism is encapsulated in the Maori verbage, Manaakitanga and Kaitiakitanga. These twin principles express dual responsibilities of stewardship and governance - of the whenua (land), taonga (treasures) and tangata (people) - and requires of us as tangata whenua (people of the land) to extend outstanding hospitality to our manuhiri (tourists).

As a responsible tour operator Pavlovich Coachlines supports this philosophy as well as that of the New Zealand Tourism Strategy 2015 which re-establishes, at a national industry level, the need for tour operators to be fully engaged in eco-friendly practices and, where possible, using environmentally-friendly products.

Sustainable, efficient transport
For the past nine years Bernard has seen to it that only Scania touring coaches are purchased for the touring business. Pavlovich Coachlines purchase only the highest quality Scania coaches so that our operating platform meets the best available standards. We fully endorse Scania's vision to reduce carbon dioxide emissions per tonne transported by 50 percent in the next twenty years.  This will be achieved by:

Environmental strategy from a life-cycle perspective
With one of the most efficient production systems in the world, and by using modular components, Scania minimises waste in every form.  Hazardous materials are used only where absolutely necessary - and handling and disposal is tightly controlled.  And for disposal of vehicles at the end of their lives, Scania provides detailed dismantling and disposal protocols.  Many parts are designed to be recycled, and are marked for easy identification.
